SUMMARY:Pride Weekend
DESCRIPTION:First Friday in June which is Pride Month is June 7th which is also PRIDE Weekend for Boston MA and I will be hosting the open mic piano bar at Club Cafe 209 Columbus avenue Boston MA and the Napoleon Room from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.\nAs usual when I’m hosting every month on First Fridays\, I always have a theme. To celebrate Pride Month & Pride Weekend for Boston my theme for June is: “I Am What I Am “\nSo how the theme works is simple: all the songs sung in the room for this night will be songs with a gay subject matter or anything written\, composed or performed by a LGBTQ artist. As well as any songs with one of these chosen words that represent things dealing with gay pride & gay rights\, their struggle or issues. The chosen words are as follows: Gay\, Drag\, Queen\, Unity\, Beautiful\, Blessed/Blessing\, Hero\, Struggle\, Strength/Strong\,  Support\, Winner\, Fight/Fighter\, Power/Powerful\, Together & Encourage \n \nI will perform a mini concert for 45 minutes out front and then we’ll take a short break and then we will open the room up to all singers who have signed up to sing. I will be accompanied that night on the piano by the amazing Bill Duffy and he will be the one playing for all the singers for the open mic as well. We ask that all singers contact me in advance and tell me the songs you would like to sing. You will need to have one up-tempo/fast selection and one moderate or slow ballad. We do it this way so that the room is not all slow songs for the entire evening. With these chosen words and the theme subject it should give you many songs to pick from.\nWith this kicking off Pride Weekend in Boston I strongly encouraged you to make a reservation NOW! The room is cozy and has limited seating. We do sell out pretty quickly. Please call 617-536-0966 to make your reservations in advance. Always remember there is no cover at the piano bar make sure you tell them your reservation is for the Napoleon Room.\nI look forward to seeing you. Time to kick June off with a bang.
